Detail: 13/11/2019: One of a pair of chevron signs has been knocked down and no longer clearly indicates direction.
Action to be taken or taken: Reported. Update 02/02/2020: no change. Noted that a second sign has also been knocked down at SJ 694345 49245. Update 26/03/2020: no change except that there are now FOUR displaced chevrons. Update 27/09/2020: work complete, signs have been re-erected. Update 28/03/2021: no change as signs still down. Issue to be reported to Cheshire East again. Update 02/04/2021: reported. Update 14/05/2021: no change. Update 24/07/2021: no change.

Response from authority: Update 02/04/2021: Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and assigned it to a member of our team. The enquiry will be assessed and any necessary action taken. Update 28/05/2021: "All roads and footways on the highway network are regularly inspected as part of our scheduled safety inspection regime. The Conditions of Signs at London Road, Walgherton has been assessed and will be considered for inclusion in an appropriate future programme. At this stage, I am unable to give you any indication on timescale. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the condition of this location via the scheduled inspection regime, and keep it in a safe condition for all highway users. "
